Concerned Residents of SCF Update
Updated: Mar 20, 2022
From the "Concerned Residents of SCF" Committee
We have had many requests to keep our supporters better informed as to the progress we are making in advocating for residents of SCF regarding the development of amenities for our community. As a result we will produce a weekly progress report delivered via email.
Short history: The committee was formed by a few residents who became aware of changes to Pulte's (Del Webb) advertised plan for the community. The changes include less than advertised amenities (golf courses and recreation centers) and integration of non 55 age families into the community.
The committee has been active in expanding volunteers, organizing picketers and other efforts to spread word of these changes.
Recent Events:
Created a complaint with the AZ Attorney General
Pulte has responded to the complaint
We have responded to their response and will continue to pursue this legal action.
Developed processes to recruit and schedule protesters. More protesters are needed this week:
Thursday 3/17 11:00am - 1:00pm
Thursday 3/17 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Friday 3/18 11:00am - 1:00pm
Friday 3/18 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Saturday 3/19 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Sunday 3/20 11:00am - 1:00pm
Sunday 3/20 11:00am - 1:00pm
Please email concernedresidentsofscf@gmail.com stating the shift you are able to attend, and thank you for your support.
We will continue to picket as it is effective and we have volunteers
On March 6 the AZ Republic published an article titled "Sun City Festival resident picket over tee times, other concerns over amenities". The article stated the concerns of SCF concerned community members.
Consulted with a Consumer Protection/Real Estate lawyer
The lawyer advised we continue working with the AZ Attorney General until we've exhausted that resource, then engage a private attorney.
We are in the process of contacting recent new home buyers who were promised the aforementioned amenities, either verbally or in writing, to also contact the AZ Attorney General. If you are in possession of any brochures or sales flyers that were given to you in helping your decision to purchase a new Del Web home here in Sun City Festival that proposed or promised additional amenities, please contact April Hurlbert at 253-370-2733.
Buckeye City Council District 4 Patrick Hagestad has also been contacted in hopes to help solicit communication between Pulte Homes and our committee. We are hoping for a response in the near future.
Thank you for all the positive feed back and your continued support.
